Drinkin’ Wine and Staring at the Phone
written by Dave Insley
(3:29)
I've walked these city streets and thought about you
Where are you tonight, are you alone?
So many sleepless nights I've sat and wondered
While drinking wine and staring at the phone
Drinking wine and staring at the phone
And all of those "good times" I've spent alone
I wish I had a friend that I could call
To be here with me when my teardrops fall
I wish I had a dime for every night I've spent alone
Just drinking wine & staring at the phone
I've made the rounds and gone to all the parties
And I've even tried to find another girl
But I always end up feeling sad and lonely
And stuck out in this cold cruel lonesome world

I Don’t Know How This Story Ends
written by Dave Insley
(3:11)
There ain’t no map to where we’re going
Just one way out from deep within
I met you in that field the poet mentioned
I hope I’ll see you here again
Beyond the world that lies before us
Out where our spirits long to fly
Beyond ideas that separate us
Out where there is no you and I
I see you and I feel your eyes upon me
I meet them and the room begins to spin
A good thing for us that time has no meaning
Cause I don’t know how this story ends
I don’t know how this story ends
I don’t know how this story ends
I hope I’ll see you here again
But I don’t know how this story ends
Two heartbeats that resonate together
I feel your tender body next to mine
Dreams are intertwined with love & laughter
Float away and leave the world behind

Call Me If You Ever Change Your Mind
written by Dave Insley
(3:14)
You tell me that you think that things will never be the way they were before
You’re right I guess the world will change the minute that you walk out of my door
You need some time alone and honey I am going to give you endless time
But call me if you ever change your mind
Call me if you ever change your mind
The writing's on the wall & it’s not hard to see the future if you look
Our minds are complicated but you know our hearts read like an open book
And I might not still be here, after all my hearts been waiting a long time
But call me if you ever change your mind
Call me if you ever change your mind
The rhythm of your breathing in our bedroom lets me know that you’re still here
But now our days have numbers ever since you made your mind up true & clear
I hope that you'll be happy all alone and maybe searching for a sign
But call me if you ever change your mind
Call me if you ever change your mind
Call me if you ever change your mind
Call me if you ever change your mine

Win-Win Situation For Losers
written by Rick Shea, Dave Insley, Paul Lacques
(3:45)
Amber lights, liquor flows, a cheating song that we both know
It's plain to see we’ve both been here before
You lost yours, I lost mine, the razor cuts both ways sometimes
And the tears that fall will be our just reward
It's plain to see that we both deserve each other
We both have scraped our hearts up off the floor
It's a win-win situation, for losers
For broken hearts and second chance abusers
You and me, we can't go wrong
We both are right where we belong
It's a win-win situation, for losers
Another round we'll talk a spell, a short walk to a cheap hotel
And we both leave old memories outside the door
Lie there in each other’s arms, and tell ourselves we’ll do no harm
But the sins we hide are too big to ignore
It's plain to see that we both deserve each other
We both have scraped our hearts up off the floor
It's a win-win situation, for losers
For broken hearts and second chance abusers
You and me, we can't go wrong
We both are right where we belong
It's a win-win situation for losers
It’s a win-win situation for losers

Arizona Territory, 1904
written by Dave Insley
(4:37)
Momma always told us Agua Fria’s really pretty in the springtime
When we were boys we always said someday that we would like to travel there
Momma didn’t know when time had passed that I would fall in with the wrong crowd
Dear momma passed away before that fateful day my brother shot me down
I don’t know how it started but the truth is we were always very different
He had a heart so true, he stood up tall and always did his very best
I don’t know why my heart was black & cold and I could be so very vicious
I killed 20 men before the day when I had just turned twenty-four years old
The air is crisp and clear and pretty cactus flowers bloom out in the desert
Clear water forms a rocky stream that flows down from Black Canyon up above
Before this day is done I’ll take a bullet from the gun of my dear brother
An Arizona Ranger, he’s the only one who thought to track me here
I guess I could’ve killed him if somehow I could have found it in my mind to
I stepped into the street at forty feet and then I looked him in the eyes
But I was tired of running, always looking back & forth over my shoulder
I let him win, I died for him, since I don’t care, why should I even try?
Momma always told us Agua Fria’s really pretty in the springtime
When we were boys we always said someday that we would like to travel there
Momma, aren’t you glad I finally got to come and see all of this beauty?
I’m dying in the street but I still smell the pretty flowers in the air
Yes I’m dying in the street but I still smell the pretty flowers in the air

Please Believe Me
written by Dave Insley
(3:14)
Please believe me, when I tell you, that I love you
Please believe me, when I tell you, that I adore you
Wipe away those tears, you silly little thing
You know I’m going to ask you, to wear my wedding ring
Please believe me, when I tell you, that I need you
Please believe me, when I tell you, that I adore you
You’re my darling, you’re my sweetheart, and I love you
Yes you’re my honey, my one and only, and I want you…
You know I miss your smile, whenever it’s away
You know I’ll love you baby, until my dying day
Please believe me, when I tell you, that I need you
Please believe me, when I tell you, that I adore you
Please believe me, when I tell you, that I love you
Please believe me, when I tell you, that I love you

Footprint In The Snow
written by Dave Insley
(3:34)
Shadows linger from your every move
The future’s just a memory that we choose
And I’ll remember every place we go
Reminded by a footprint in the snow
Yes I saw your little footprint in the snow
Left when I walked you to the car before
And it makes me tremble sadly cause I know
That our time on earth together is too short
Came back inside for another kiss
Drove away and waved while you waved back
The light within your eyes is deep & true
Five minutes gone but damn I sure miss you
Stay with me till we both are old & gray
I’m grateful for each ever-loving’ day
Stay with me until my heart no longer beats
Stay with me cause our time’s so short & sweet
“I’m almost never careful” is what you say
They might be the words they etch upon your grave
But you’re careful not to waste a single kiss
And I’m lucky that I have you dear to miss

Dead And Gone
written by Dave Insley
(3:33)
My wife and my girlfriend met at my funeral
Well I guess they got along just famously
I heard they got a lot in common
They both loved me while I was hitting rock bottom
And they both cried, and waited patiently
But now I'm dead and gone
I had to say "so long"
At least I died with my boots on
But I'm still dead & gone
My credit cards all caught up with each other
Well I was just one step ahead of them each day
I guess someone’s gonna have to pay ‘em
But not me, I think I’m going to just lay here
Because I ain’t got the strength to do much anyway
My pets have found a new home they love better
And the mailman he just throws my things away
I guess I really don't need those letters
They ain’t a-gonna make me feel no better
Ever since the good lord took my breath away....

No One to Come Home to

No One To Come Home To
written by Dave Insley
(4:05)
I made you lots of promises, about how things would be
That I would come in off the road, and spend my time with thee
I made you dinner, gave you flowers, no girl could ask for more
But now there's no one to come home to, since you walked out my door
Now there's no one to come home to, so I guess I'll stay away
No one to greet me at my door, and to put my coat away
No one to spend my time with, who means the world to me
There’s no one to come home to, what a lonely life I lead
I cried the day you left because I knew that we we’re through
I hope someday you’re happy, cause I want the very best for you
I couldn’t read the note you left, or face our bed alone
And this house here sure seems lonely, with just the rattling of my bones
You packed your clothes and all your things and took off with a roar
You took your little dog whose nails went tic tac on the floor
Now I’m alone and I sure wish I had that dog to walk
Instead of all these empty rooms and the ticking of the clock

We’re All Here Together Cause Of You
Dave Insley
(3:43)
Thank you for the things you always do
Like washing clothes and making beds
And making sure the kids get fed
And taking time to love their daddy too
I’m grateful for the light that’s in your eyes
It shines on all these blessings true
And fills my every breath with you
And somehow helped me come to realize
It’s a wonder that I’m here at all
To hear our little baby’s footsteps fall
Her tiny voice, her smile, her laughter too
Yeah we’re all here together cause of you
The six year old wants eggs and daddy’s knee
The baby’s playing peek-a-boo
And clapping hands and hugging you
You all want what I’m so glad to be
And the older girl’s a joy to be around
All grown up and heart of gold
But still she needs her folks to hold
I’m grateful we’re a family and I’ve found
It’s a wonder that I’m here at all
To hear our teenage daughter when she calls
And to see her pretty smile and know her too
Cause we’re all her together cause of you
Well all our kids were sent from up above
They make me laugh and smile and then
It makes me cry if I can’t help them
Learn all of the ways to grow in love
And I know of the things that you’ve taught me
That lonely are the ships that drift
Upon a sea without a kiss
The girls and you and I are family
It’s a wonder that I’m here at all
With Lily, Sammie and our Genny Bell
Vienna, Jayde, Sujata, Laurel too
Yeah we’re all here together cause of you
The Doctor said your going to be just fine
You’re just in the family way
But everything will be O.K.
Hey aren’t you glad that it’s a boy this time?
It’s a wonder that I’m here at all
To watch our little Otto learn to crawl
A little man to join our little crew
We’re all here together cause of you
Yes we’re all here together cause of you

Just The Way That I Am
Dave Insley
(3:30)
I used to be clear as a picture, I never was meek as a lamb
Inside a fire’s always burning, that’s made me the man that I am
I can’t help the way that God made me, I just try the best that I can
Love me in spite of my sorrow, love me because I’m a man
Lord I know I’m not perfect, I’m a fool but I’m a man
And I hope that you’ll take me, just the way that I am
Just the way that I am, just the way that I am
Lord I hope you will take me, just the way that I am
I used to think that I could make it, I used to think that I’d be fine
I never thought I was in danger, of losing my heart or my mind
I can’t help the way that God made me, I just do the best that I can
Love me because of tomorrow, love me because I’m a man

Everything Must Go
Dave Insley, Rosie Flores
(4:01)
Everything must go
Nothing ever last
Time will take its toll
It all goes by so fast
I want to be alone
And it's a brand new day
I need some time to breathe
I've got to find my way
Cause everything must go
I'll empty out the drawers
I'll disconnect the phone
I'll probably cry some more
But everything must go
And when I'm all alone
And everything has gone
I'll say goodbye once more
And try to carry on
But everything must go
Cause everything must go
I'll find my peace at last
I feel like letting go
It all goes by so fast
Everything must go
